Conference report Trade and Economic Development, Focus on Agriculture, South Africa Print
The main topic discussed at this two day event was parliamentary action in support of the NEPAD Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), which aims to set budget allocations for agriculture to a minimum of 10% of total public spending by 2008.



On the first day, 15 experts met in the framework of an Expert Group meeting to exchange expertise and prepare the content of the Regional Seminar. This took place the day after, and 35 experts and Members of Parliament from 10 southern African countries addressed acceleration of CAADP implementation at the national level.
