Eurodad Report Print
A new NGO report just published by the European Network on Debt and Development (Eurodad) analyses the effectiveness of aid using empirical data and interviews conducted in seven countries.

The report, endorsed by a number of European and African NGOs, found that progress towards fulfilling the Paris Declaration of Aid Effectiveness has been patchy and partial, and that donors have a long way to go in the areas of ownership and accountability.

According to the report, donors are still lacking in transparency regarding their aid and are not sufficiently accountable either to governments or citizens in developing countries. Democratic processes risk being undermined as parliamentarians and civil society organisations are sidelined from the debate.

This report is an important contribution to the aid effectiveness debate in the lead up to the Accra High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in September 2008. To view this report, please click on the link below.
