Graça Machel, Mary Robinson and Desmond Tutu of the AWEPA Eminent Advisory Board were amongst twelve Elders to urge that the African Union condemn the June 27 elections in Zimbabwe as illegitimate.
Nelson Mandela established The Elders as an independent advocacy group, which has also advised African Union leaders to displace Mugabe with a transitional government, and facilitate free and fair elections in Zimbabwe. |
