National Parliamentary Workshop on Climate Change Mitigation: 2-3 September, Cape Town

The Association of European Parliamentarians with Africa (AWEPA) and the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) will organise a National Workshop for the Parliament of South Africa on 2-3 September in Cape Town. The workshop will facilitiate a dynamic exchange of knowledge and expertise between Members of Parliament, Government Representatives, Academics, Researchers and CSOs on Climate Change Issues. Opportunities for mitigation/adaptation will be examined with the Parliamentarians and Government Representatives, and they will work jointly on a National Plan of Action for Climate Change Mitigation.
The workshop is organised by AWEPA and IIED, with support of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). Around 12 Members of parliament and 10 experts are expected to participate in the workshop.
