SADC Regional Parliamentary Seminar on Parliamentary Engagement in Making Aid More Effective, 3-5 May, Maputo

The Association of European Parliamentarians with Africa (AWEPA), the National Assembly of Mozambique, and the Southern African Development Community Parliamentary Forum (SADC-PF) organized a SADC Regional Seminar on Aid Effectiveness held from 3-5 May in Maputo, Mozambique. The seminar: “Parliamentary Engagement in Assuring Aid Supports Development: A Focus on Evidence” served to highlight and further explore the role of parliaments in assuring that development aid is used most effectively to reduce poverty and create an environment suitable for sustained social and economic development. The results of the seminar is incorperated into the preparatory process for the upcoming Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectivenes, to be held in the Repubic of Korea in November this year. The seminar was made possible through the generous support of the Austrian Development Agency.
