This is the video for the Make Aid Transparent campaign, which calls on governments to publish more and better information about the aid they give. You can find out more about aid transparency and sign the petition at www.makeaidtransparent.org

Together with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank (PNOWB) and the Network of African Parliamentarians (NAP), AWEPA is providing input to the outcome document in preparation for the High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness (HLF4) that will be held in Busan, South Korea, in November 2011. The Legislative Principles for Development Effectiveness is a living document stemming from a wide and extensive consultation process, still ongoing as of today.

From 3-5 May 2011 AWEPA also cooperated with the Mozambican Parliament, SADC Parliamentary Forum, East African Legislative Assembly and the NEPAD Agency in a parliamentary seminar titled, SADC Regional Parliamentary Seminar on Parliamentary Engagement in Making Aid More Effective, which endorsed these Legislative Principles.

AWEPA's role in Aid Effectiveness began in 2008 when it coordinated a parliamentary presence at the 3rd High Level Forum held in Accra and has since then cooperated closely on these issues with its African partners in the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), Regional Parliamentary Bodies (RPBs) and National Parliaments.
