AWEPA’s capacity building programmes offer training, workshops, seminars and study visits for parliamentarians and parliamentary staff, with the objective to create a space and environment that fosters knowledge sharing of the democratic process.

AWEPA has divided its programmes in two overlapping areas: Institutional and thematic programmes. At institutional level AWEPA works with an African parliament at national, regional or continental level as well as decentralized local authorities. Thematic programmes are programmes that carry a theme informing parliamentarians and mobilize parliamentary action on specific issues through conferences, exchanges and publications.
