Madrid, Spain, 12 June 2013. A delegation of Parliamentarians from the Nigerian National Assembly visited the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of Spain on 10 and 11 June. A welcoming reception led by Hon. Maldonado, Head of the AWEPA Spanish Section, kicked off the event.
The delegation, led by Hon. Chukwuemeka Nkem Ihedioha (Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Nigeria) and H.E. the Ambassador of Nigeria in Spain, Mr. Dokun Fagbohum, comprised the following Members of the National Assembly:

The delegates aimed to enhance their knowledge and exchange information with their Spanish colleagues concerning the following topics:
– legislation, oversight and accountability;
– the role of parliament in managing the economic crisis;
– building the capacity of the parliament;
– the Spanish experience in parliamentary research, documentation and the application of ICT facilities.
