Delegates from the interprovincial Legislative Training workshop for Members on Financial Oversight; Ethics and Accountability.

This activity was an exploration of the relationship between political and managerial accountability with a view to clarifying who the legislature should be holding accountable for success or failures in service delivery and also to explore key issues in exercising oversight of the actual delivery of services. The training also focused on a general conceptualisation of corruption and an exploration of the context in which it occurs internationally and identifying the domestic sphere, nature and extent of corruption. There were also case studies which showed the pathologies and ramifications of corruption. The training was concluded with the provision of practical tools that could be used to overcome corruption such as ethics architecture and a socialisation model.
