AWEPA Members Receive Honorary Awards

Brussels, Belgium – During a break of the Governing Council meeting held on 13 December 2013, the Deputy Head of Cabinet of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, Mr. Luc de Lobel, represented the Minister in awarding Mr. Luc Dhoore the Grand Cross of the Order of the Crown, and in naming Ms. Julie Standaert and Ms. Lydia Maximus Officers of the Order of Leopold II.

Members of AWEPA for almost thirty years, Mr. Dhoore, Ms. Standaert and Ms. Maximus have tirelessly worked to introduce sustainable parliamentary democracy in central Africa and to found effective parliamentary networks between Africa and Europe.

Following this, Minister of State Ms. Miet Smet President of AWEPA presented Mr. Luc Dhoore and Ms. Julie Standaert the AWEPA honorary awards.
