Madrid, Spain – On 18 October 2016, AWEPA’s Section in the Spanish Parliament held its first “Breakfast with Ambassadors” meeting in the Section’s office in the Spanish Senate.
The AWEPA members met with H.E. Mario Ferreira Lópes Camöes, Ambassador of Cape Verde to Spain, who was welcomed by the President of the Spanish Senate, Hon. Pío García-Escudero.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the participants to engage in discussion, and to share viewpoints, concerns and assessments regarding Africa, its great cultural richness and diversity, its beauty, and its needs.
The “Breakfast with Ambassadors” intiative will take the form of a series of informal breakfasts designed to promote knowledge sharing and cooperation between AWEPA members and the African Ambassadors, through discussions on current issues affecting the African continent. In the long-term, the initiative expects to forge long-lasting relationships between Spanish parliamentarians, and African Ambassadors.
