Legislation and development: training for MPs and staff in Mozambique

Beira city, Mozambique – As part of its programme in Mozambique, funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AWEPA organised a four-day training session on legal and technical advisor issues in Beira City, Mozambique on 27-30 September 2016.

The training was attended by MPs and staff members from the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Human Rights and Legality; MPs from the Sofala Constituency; and representatives of the Provincial Assemblies.

The main objective of the training was to build the capacities of the MPs to draft, understand and influence legislation on public politics.

The training also aimed to improve their participation regarding legislative issues relating to Mozambique’s development.
