Seminar on Elections, Rwanda, Kigali, 25-26 July 2008
Throughout the continent especially throughout countries in the region, some elections have been characterised by violence. The most recent case took place in neighbouring Kenya, which was shaken by post-electoral violence in 2008. Legislative elections in Rwanda are scheduled on 15 September 2008. It is in that context that AWEPA and AMANI-Rwanda with the help of our partners, notably the Rwandan Parliament and the UNDP/DFID, have prepared a seminar aimed at educating the Rwandan people about elections free of violence with a focus on the role of Political Parties and Media.
